This year, Missouri State University staff members and their families could go trick-or-treating around residence halls Freudenberger House, Blair-Shannon House and Wells House once again. Halloween in the Halls took place on Nov. 2 from 5-8 p.m. for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Missouri State University’s Carrie’s Café is the student-operated restaurant located in Pummill Hall best known for its Euro-fusion menu and homemade snacks.

Fans flooded into campus on Saturday, Oct. 21 as the Bears took on their opponent, Murray State during the football game, where the 2023 Homecoming royalty were crowned at halftime.

The Unlikely Allies book signing and lecture will take place in the Plaster Student Union theater on March 4, at 7 p.m. The event will include a summary of the book, “Unlikely Allies in the Academy: Women of Color and White Women in Conversation,” from author Dr. Karen L. Dace.

The Snail Art House hosted an open house on Friday, April 1, where the community could admire fun, new and colorful art from resident artists, Abby Baechle, Chloe Thorne, Levi Holloway and Kelsey Farris. The downtown house is located at 204 S. Campbell Ave. The artists invited friends, family and the public to look at the new art house.

Certificate programs act as an addition to a major or minor and are designed for students who wish to complete another concentration of study in a specific area. Certificates can be a good addition to a resume and increase a student’s proficiency in certain topics.

Missouri State offers 18 fraternities and eight sororities for students to join on campus and one sorority off campus. Getting involved in fraternity and sorority life (FSL) is a great way for students to get involved with important activities on campus, meet people and create long-lasting friendships. It is also a great way for students to develop social and leadership skills, grow individually and academically and give back to the campus community.

The 43rd Ozark Fall Farm Festival will be held Oct. 7-9 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, located in north Springfield.
